Yesterday, on Good Friday, Fr. Dan Vitz, a priest of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE) died after a long illness. I am related to him through the marriage of my sister, Ann and his brother, Peter.
He was a good and holy priest. He loved the Holy Mass and the Church with a great love.
He was cheerful, courageous, smart, funny, intense and generous. I will strive, through having personally known his good example to imitate those virtues in my life.
Please pray for the repose of his soul and the peaceful consolation of his family. May he know the eternal rest that our Redeemer purchased for all of us through his own death which we commemorate on the very same day.
